Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
This policy explains what information slay collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to the slay mobile app and our website at slaycamera.camera (together, the “Service”).
01Data we collect
slay is built to be a private, local-first camera. It does not require an account, and the photos you capture on your device are yours. We collect only a minimal amount of information to operate the Service.
Your photos & camera
- Photos you capture with slay are stored in your own photo library on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.
- The app does not collect, transmit, or share your photos.
Usage & diagnostics
- App analytics events, device and operating-system information, performance metrics, and crash logs.
Website cookies
- Basic analytics cookies on slaycamera.camera.
App Store privacy summary
- Data linked to you: usage data and diagnostics.
- Tracking: none.
- Third-party advertising: none.
02How we use data
We use the data we collect to:
- Operate the Service — providing the camera, composition guides, and camera controls.
- Process your one-time purchase on the App Store.
- Improve reliability and performance.
- Comply with the law and enforce our terms.
If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
04Data retention
- Photos: captured photos remain in your device's photo library and are never stored by us.
- Purchase records: retained for up to 7 years to meet tax and legal requirements.
- Analytics: aggregated or anonymized data may be retained for longer.
05Security
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Data is encrypted at rest through our host's protections.
- Because slay is local-first, your photos never leave your device.
- We notify affected users of breaches as required by law.
No security method is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
06Your choices and rights
In-app controls
- You can grant or deny camera permission at any time from your device settings.
- Your photos are managed through your device's photo library, where you can edit or delete them freely.
Data requests
To access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, contact us at @yaps.gg. We may retain limited information where necessary for legal compliance and abuse prevention.
Region-specific rights
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, delete, and correct your data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (which we do not do). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and restriction. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
07Children
The Service is not intended for users under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at @yaps.gg and we will delete it.
08International transfers
We operate primarily in the United States. Your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries, with appropriate safeguards in place where required.
09Changes to this policy
We post updates to this policy on this page. For material changes, we will let you know in-app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
